Fukubukuro

That's my new Japanese word.... I've been talking about it on Facebook and have made a few inquiries as to the actual event.  From what I am told it is a Japanese tradition of retailers selling "Happy Grab Bags" these grab bags are filled with merchandise that is double the value of the contents.  From what I understand from a couple of people that have attended this event at the Ala Moana mall it is well worth the time and effort.  I only have one problem....its only held on the first, January 1st and this year it falls on a Sunday.  Which means I may have to choose between church and this event.  I wouldn't really be that big of a deal but I did just move our records over to our new ward here in Hawaii and of course this would be our first Sunday as members of the ward.  I would hate to think we are no shows because I was too busy shopping at the mall .

Move to Hawaii

Its official we're moving to Hawaii....well just for 6 months of the year.  We're keeping our home in CA but have signed a lease on a condo in Honolulu.  We're in town 3 blocks from the beach and 2 blocks from International Market and less then a mile from Ala Moana shopping center.

Things are moving pretty fast now with regards to the move.  We are shipping Roberts car and leaving mine home.  I'm packing today and will be flying Sunday to pick up our keys and dropping the first of our things there.   I have a scheduled procedure coming up so I will be coming back for that but after that I don't anticipate coming back until sometime after the new year and even then it will only be for a couple of days.  Hawaii will be home for the next 6 months.

Oh we are planning on coming home for Thanksgiving but it will only be for a couple of days.  All of Robert siblings will be meeting up in Utah so we will be there for that.  We're excited if you can't tell :)

Not since May

WOW not since May have I blogged.  Can't say that it's been because I have been so busy but actually I have been pretty busy ha.  Robert and I have had a great summer coming and going as we please.  We didn't do any major traveling as we thought we would but Robert has promised me that will be next year.  In June we went to the Big Island with Maureen and Molly.  That was a great relaxing trip.  We then came home and went to Las Vegas.  We've been to Vegas a few times this summer.  We have one more trip to Vegas planned for the year and then we will be officially Vegas out.  Ha does that really happen?  Anyways, we've been to Utah a few times to visit family.  Robert went to Samoa for 2 weeks in July.  He was able to take care of his mothers head stone.  I didn't take the trip with him as it is better when he is dealing with family matters that he goes alone so that he can devote his time and attention to matters at hand rather then trying to make sure I'm happy and taken care of so we both thought it better a solo trip.

I'll try and make it on here more often.

Making a cake.....

So I've always wanted to learn how to make really cool cakes.  I always thought I didn't  have the time.  It turns out I don't have the patience for it.  Today I made my first cake from scratch.  Frosting and all (that was the easy part).

hmm so silly me couldn't wait for the cake to cool down enough and ended up having to put it in the fridge after I decorated it to allow it to actually cool down so the frosting wasn't running down the side of the cake.  Oh well. I will not give up!!!.   I will attempt to make a cake a week and see what happens.  Robert is convinced that when we move to Samoa I will be a master cake maker and everyone who is anyone will come to me.  And because of the speciality of the cake I will only make one cake at a time to allow for each creation to be truly special.  LOL sounds funny but oh well its an idea.

Not a very pretty cake but its a cake so I will continue on.

Wow what a trip, we had so much fun we booked another cruise.  Robert says we can't go again until the office in Hawaii is built but I'm pushing for October.... starting to save already hehe.  Here are some of the 200+ photos we took.  Enjoy :)

WOW has it really been that long?????

Ok so what have I been doing....

Well lets see December was a very filled month with Christmas, and several trips to Hawaii.  Christmas was actually spent in Hawaii.  The picture of Joe (Rianne's husband) was taken Christmas morning in our hotel room.  We had a great time shopping and then opening gifts together.

New Years was spent in 29 Palms with my cousin Phyllis and her family.  That was alot of fun.  The next three months have been spent traveling back and forth to Hawaii.  Roberts Tax business has taken off and we are doing very well.  We are currently looking for office space in Hawaii and if things go as we believe they will we will make the official move to Hawaii next year.
